Panama is the Hub of The Americas. Our International Airport connects multiple countries. Therefore, all international visitors might need to review the immigration regulations before entering Panama.

Entry requirements

VISAS AND IMMIGRATION / REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

We recommend you bring additional documents as the registration confirmation to attend the event, and any extra documentation supporting the purpose of your travel.

Return ticket and documents to enter another country of destination.

Passport with at least six months validity.

Economic solvency.

Visa or a tourist card, if needed.

If you are from one of the following countries, you will need a printed visa. To apply for a paper visa, you must submit the following requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

Complete and sign the visa application (Download the form on Panama´s Embassy Website)
Copies of all pages of your passport, with a valid passport for at least three months before the intended trip.
Flight reservation with onward travel itinerary or electronic ticket.
A copy of your current I.D., validated by your country of origin.
Three photographs (size: 2 x 2, with white backgrounds).
Way of payment: (2) Money orders from Western Union or Moneygram. a) The first money order for USD 50.00, to the NATIONAL IMMIGRATION SERVICE b) A second money order for USD 10.00, payable to the CONSULATE OF PANAMA.
Proof of economic solvency during the stay (not less than USD 500.00) This can be verified with one of the following:
- A certified bank check with the applicant's name.
- Travelers check with the name of the applicant.
- The applicant's bank statement for the previous three months.
- Credit card statements for the last three months.
- Work certification that is associated with the last paycheck or accreditation of an independent worker, in the case of being an employee of a public or private entity.
- If you are a retired citizen, submit a certification of retirement.
- A letter from your employer detailing your monthly salary (which must be translated into Spanish).
- Tax returns from the previous tax year.
- If you are acting as an entrepreneur, please send a bank reference.
- The National Immigration Service will accept any other reasonable proof of income.
Bring the last visa that was approved by the immigration authorities. (if applicable)
Hotel reservation (if applicable)
Submit, if applicable, a letter of invitation, which may come from a Panamanian resident or a private entity:
- If they are temporary or permanent residents of Panama, they must provide the following:
  1. A true copy of their serial number.
  2. Their passport and an identification document for the foreigner; and
  3. Their tax reports.
- If they are private entities, they must provide the following:
  1. Certification in the Public Registry.
  2. Copy of Notice of Activities.
  3. A copy of the code of operation in the Colon Free Zone (if it is applicable).
  4. Their tax reports.
If you present a letter of invitation (nº10), the economic solvency of the inviter can be verified with these documents:
- Bank certification.
- Rent declaration.
- Work letter with the last date of the Social Security Fund for citizens born in the country.
For an application of a minor, a parent or legal guardian must apply.

Note: Documents must be notarized by a public notary before being sent to the offices of the Embassy. All documents must be translated into Spanish.

Please be advised

The approval for a Stamped Visa process may take up to 30 business days, depending on the verification of your documents. Only finalize your travel arrangements once your visa has been granted.

NOTE

If the visa is granted, you must go personally to the consulate to get the visa printed on your passport.

The Republic of Panama Executive Decree No. 521 of August 6, 2018, issues special considerations for some travellers needing a VISA to enter Panama.

Article 1:

Any national from a Country who requires a VISA to enter the Republic of Panama, may enter the national territory if they are holders of a valid VISA or residence permit issued by:

Canada
Commonwealth of Australia
European Union Countries (Schengen)
Japan
Republic of Korea
Republic of Singapore
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
United States of America

Article 2:

The VISA granted by the countries mentioned in the previous article must be a multiple entry VISA that has been used previously in the territory of the granting State and its validity will not be less than six (6) months at the time of entering Panama.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

We are working closely with Panama´s Immigration Service and the Panama Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help all participants to access a fast-track process for the approval of VISAS to enter Panama. "You can find the procedure to apply for your visa here. We will be accepting applications until July 19."
